On 04/27/2024, at approximately 0148 hours, the Alaska State Trooper Soldotna based K9 Team, conducted a traffic stop for moving violations in Ninilchik. Investigation revealed the operator, Roen Bice, age 22 of Anchor Point, was impaired by alcoholic beverages. He was arrested for driving under the influence. Due to already having two prior convictions for driving under the influence less than six months ago this arrest was a felony offense. His breath alcohol concentration was .097 g/210L. He was remanded at the Wildwood pretrial center.

On 04/23 at approximately 1851 hours, the Alaska State Troopers in Seward took a REDDI report of a vehicle driving at high rates of speed and passing recklessly on the Sterling Highway in Sterling. The vehicle was ultimately located near Cooper Landing and was pulled over for speed. Investigation revealed the driver, 37 year old Patrick Limoges of Homer was driving impaired. Limoges was arrested for Felony DUI and transported to Soldotna AST for Datamaster. He was ultimately transported to Wildwood where he was remanded on charges of Felony DUI and Driving While License Revoked.

On 4/26/24 AST remanded Kristopher Simpson, age 41 of Wasilla, on an active arrest warrant (3PA-24-00534CR, O/C DWLR). Simpson was incarcerated at Mat-Su Pretrial for unrelated charges at the time of the remand.

On 4/27/24 AST responded to a disturbance in Palmer. Following the investigation Joseph Gibson, age 47 of Palmer, was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pretrial for DV-related Assault in the fourth degree.

On 4/26/24 at approximately 1629 hours AST responded to a residence on Gwene Lane, Wasilla, for a report of a domestic disturbance. A 17-year-old was identified and placed under arrest for physically assaulting a family member. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

Location: WasillaType: DUI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical TestDispatch Text:
On 4/27/24, at approximately 1213 hours, AST was notified of a single vehicle collision on Fireweed near Cambell St in Wasilla. Reports stated single sedan left the roadway, struck a light pole, then backed over a stop sign where it got disabled. The driver, Jeffry Iglesias, age 32 of Wasilla, then left the vehicle and began to walk away. The male driver was contacted in the area where he was arrested for DUI, Leaving the Scene, and Failing to provide a PBT sample. Jeffry was then transported to the local Trooper post, where he refused to submit to a chemical test as required by the Alaska Implied Consent Law, and subsequently charged with an additional crime of Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. Jeffry was on electronic monitoring in lieu of jail for sentencing in a previous case. Jeffry was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial where he was held on a $500 bail for the DUI, pending additional decisions by the Department of Corrections.

On 4/27/2024 AST transported Joshua Selman, age 28 of Palmer, to Mat-Su Pre-Trial (MSPT) for an unrelated event. While at MSPT, Joshua removed his court ordered electronic monitoring device (ankle monitor), and threw it against a cell wall causing the device to become destroyed. In conjunction with the Pre-Trial Enforcement Division, per the program rules that Selman agreed too, he was charged with the felony charge of Criminal Mischief 3, and Violating Conditions of Release.

On 4/26/24 at 2357 hours, AST conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Wasilla for driving without it's headlights on and swaying in it's lane of travel. Investigation revealed that the driver, Stefaun Sweeney, age 33 of Anchorage, had driven under the influence of a controlled substances and endangered her two children that where with her. Stefaun was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial where she was held until a sober adult could come pick her up.

On 04/26/2024 at approximately 2206 hours, MATCOM received a report of a single-vehicle collision into a guardrail on Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Legacy Lane in Palmer. AST contacted driver Reanna Leigh Porto, age 29 of Anchorage. Investigation revealed Reanna drove under the influence of intoxicating beverages and wrecked her vehicle into the guardrail. Reanna was arrested on a charge of DUI, remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial, and released O.R. when sober.

On April 26th 2024, at about 1830, Troopers responded to the area of Sunflower Loop in North Pole for a disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Upon contact and further investigation, it was determined that Vanessa Gilbertson, was arrested for A4 DV as she caused physical injury to her boyfriend. Vanessa was remanded to FCC without incident.

On 04/26/2024, North Star Center reported that inmate William Buchanan, 54, failed to returned to the facility at the correct time. Troopers located Buchanan several hours later and remanded him Fairbanks Correctional Center for Unlawful Evasion 1st Degree.

Mendez was later identified, arrested, and remanded to Fairbanks Correctional Center on 1x count of Assault in the 4th degree.
